Entourage TEMP files.

Postby Benjine » Tue Sep 01, 2009 7:28 pm

Hello. I've been a Mac user for just over a year and spend more time than is probably healthy on my computer. I have a 24" 3.06 GHz imac which is awesome in every way. But I am not computer/ tech minded at all.

I have one small glitch that I need some help on re; ENTOURAGE 2008. I have rarely used this app but plan to be more organised starting this Fall so want to get into it. My email account is synched up with my gmail account. That seems to be fine.

What is not so fine is the fact that for about 10 months now, EVERY SINGLE TIME I boot up my computer I see there is NEW TRASH in my trash can. It comes from Entourage. It is always the same. There are two folders which seem to contain nothing; RECOVERED FILES #1 (including sub-folder Entourage Temp) and RECOVERED FILES.

Every day I delete it. Every day it comes back. I have no idea how to stop these folders from appearing each and every day of my life. It'd be nice to not have them for a change. Anyone can help me? !! I'd be hugely grateful.

Benjine

PS: I have checked the problem in Entourage Help and they tell me the following;

If Trash contains “Recovered Files”
One or more Recovered Files folders may appear in your Trash after restarting your computer.

The recovered files are temporary files used by Mac OS X applications. Usually temporary files are deleted by an application when it no longer needs them. If an application quits unexpectedly, the temporary files may not be deleted by the application. When you restart your computer, Mac OS X moves these temporary files to the Trash.

You can retrieve useful files by dragging them out of the Trash. In most cases, however, the temporary files are not important and it is safe to empty your Trash. Check with the manufacturer of the application if yo
u are not sure.[img]

What that of course DOES NOT say is what to do if the files come back each and every time the computer is fired up? ! ! [/img]
